Dedicated to you Major Ashish Roy...You will always be in our hearts!!

Once Steve Jobs said, “Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important thing I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life, because almost everything, all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure, these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.”
And the irony of life is that we keep on running away from this fact till death takes us away from earth. Running away is still better because at least we acknowledge the death.  But the truth is, most of us forget that we will dead not in years but may be in very next moment.
2 days ago I came across very sad news of demise of a school friend of mine Major Ashish Roy …A through gentleman.  This news made me realize once again fickleness of life. Me, my dear ones….it is just a matter of moment before we lose them all…
I would like to share the biggest learning What Major Ashish Roy taught me in my life. Once during school time we were discussing about our future and all of a sudden he said, ‘’ he wants to join Army and he will join’’.  I was in laugh and said even if you are serious, would your parents let you join ? (For information he was from a very affluent background). I remember his statement, “Vikas if I want to do something then I will do it and nobody can stop me from doing what I want to do”. And till date I know selected few who did in their life what they always wanted to do. Major Ashish Roy was one of those gems.  I don’t know why god took him away from us? I have always heard good things happen to good people.  But then I have also heard that God also needs good people.  Definitely the later  statement proved to be true in Major Roy’s  case.
After school when some were confused about  what to do, some didn't know what to do, some were following the path their parents set for them and worst some choose to flow with time and what luck offered to them . But Major Ashish Roy was an exception because he knew what to do and he wrote his own life and his own path. The most important thing we can learn from his life is that ‘Follow you heart it will always lead you to right path’.
Thousand moments come in our life when we have to make a choice and we choose not to make the one we have always wanted.  We either choose the convenient option or let luck decide it. Till when we will keep on taking the path of convenience. Death is knocking on our doors…..but alas we forget this very thing. We prefer to go with the waves always thinking we have life ahead of us?
There is something called wish list in our life which is a proof how guaranteed we take our lives.    Friends,  there is no time for a wish list. If you have a wish and for god grace a pious one  then go ahead make it true now. You will not be left to make tick mark ‘achieved’ on the wish list. Keep your wish list blank my friends. It is one life and a few moments is all we have.  Death is the only certainty we have, Face it!
Stop running away…More you are running more you are getting close to death….
You think so much before acting, family friends, society and the list goes on…
Just for a few moment think you are dead….yes you are dead!!  Now think what difference is  it going to make in the world. The society and its convention about which you were thinking about, do they care about your death.  All the embarrassment you were thinking of do they make any sense if you are dead. I will leave answer to you. Now you are alive and if you are still thinking of all those shackles then break free of them. This world is a battle ground and you are a warrior and it is your time to make a difference. Go, Change, make your mark and fight till death…Follow your heart.
Because everyday millions of chicken are cut to decorate our dining plate and they make no difference. You are a human being and it is one chance bestowed upon you to do what you want to do. It is god’s life and he can take it away from us anytime…The mantra is you can be dead….any moment…
Follow the mantra my friend Major Ashish Roy gave to us, ‘Follow your heart’.  If you want to do something then nobody can stop you!!
RIP my friend Major Ashish Roy, You have made a mark in this world and wherever you are you must be watching that this society cares even when you are not here. You accomplished your mission on this earth. You will in our hearts till death make us meet again….
